Claessens is known among artists for their tradition and experience in producing superior painting canvas, and with our mounting techniques, you have a rigid, lightweight and archival painting panel. All panels are prepared to assure an acid-free substrate for your artwork. Linen can be removed from the panel if necessary.

Claessens #12 Portrait Linen
This portrait linen has a 50.8 TPI warp and 40.6 TPI weft. It is double oil primed for a smooth texture and it weighs 12.59 ounces per square yard. 2 coat sizing. ( This is the one Kim English uses !) View standard sizes and prices
Claessens Acrylic Primed #109"Universal"

Gesso/Marble Dust
Our own proprietary blend of gesso and marble dust is applied in five layers to 1/8" or 1/4" MDF, then sanded to a smooth surface. The granular marble dust finish is a versatile and durable surface, suitable for wet or dry traditional pastel techniques, or with acrylics and many other types of paint. The coating is acid free and non-yellowing, making it a permanent, museum quality surface. (This is the one Ann Templeton uses !) sizes and prices
